if i was a rich man... what would i buy
with money no object... would i learn how to fly
would i buy four new houses... a plane and a boat
that would drive me insane
but keep my ego afloat...
would i opt for seclusion... in a castle alone
with the world on the outside... and me on my own
with the grandest of fixtures..."Van Goghs"... on the wall
gold carpet to walk on... to cushion my fall...
if i was a rich man... i'd never be broke
could eat what i wanted... "The Wealthy Dont Choke"
with the finest of wines... and warmest of suns
and drink to remember... i'm having such fun...
but i'm not a rich man... my health is my wealth
the cards that i play... are the cards i was dealt
i aint got no castle... no plane or no boat
and i dont need fine wines... to keep me afloat...
but there's something i do have... that money cant buy
the love of a woman... that look in her eye
the one that does tell me... as quick as a flash
its me that she wants...no interest in cash
to dream of an island... with its own private beach
palm trees and warm breeze...thats just out of reach
white sand...and coconuts that fall from the tree...
if i was a rich man...i'm not...i'm just me...
