Because we are so far apart
In mind, body and spirit
You can never truly know
What I cant explain
If you were closer, somehow
Kept forever entertained
I cant be honest
When you hold back
Forthcoming
Precedes this emotional attack
If I let it loose
I have entered your trap
Of saying too much
Or a lack-
there of
I wish I could revel
The intimacy I feel
This bond that connects
A soul to that of a stranger who protects
Her heart from escaping
The cavity of her chest
Her thoughts reveling
What one would never expect
The words come out
But they make no sense
Inject the truth
And lets see what we get
The double standard
Single I stand
Alone,
Grasping my own cold hand
Clutching my face
In public despair
Pulling at roots
From the scalp of the hair
Eyes bloodshot
Mouth dirty dry
Stomach empty
Elapsed apple pie
I do not deny
All I said in the past
The only lie
Was this time wasted so fast
So there-
My alibi is surpassed
By my own ingenuity
In carving out this perfect mess
