I Love You

Contributed by Munchkin on Sunday, 14th January 2007 @ 06:56:49 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

A part of you has grown so its a part of me,
And so you see,
Its you and me together forever
And never ever apart, maybe in distance,
But never in heart.

If youre asking if I need you,
The answer is forever.
If youre asking if Ill leave you,
The answer is never.
If youre asking what I value,
The answer is you.
If youre asking if I love you,
The answer is always, I do.

Ill always be beside you
Until the very end.
Wiping all your tears away,
Being your best friend.
Ill smile when you smile,
And feel the same pain as you.
And if you cry a single tear,
I promise Ill cry too.

All I ever wanted was someone to
Wrap their arms around me for no reason at all
To kiss me on the forehead just because he wants to
Hold my hand because he doesnt want to ever let it go.
I think after all this time I have finally found that someone.
Its you and I couldnt be happier.

although we all write for oureselves and not anyone else, there's always room for a little criticism. So here's my "little criticism" to you: I think your poem articulates your feelings too well... it is too obvious, almost a cliche. I think a good poem must be abstract to some level, and leave some space for the reader to absorb on its own. Yours doesn't... it's all too clear...
