To feel safe in no one's arms but my own
To keep my live in my hands for some control
The same hands that write to you now
The same arms that protect me and legs that run hope-bound
I will abide, to these rules. This nerurosis
Can subside, I will feel somthing new
Only after the above, will I be able to feel
What I can of love, If it will cross my path
To be unwanted, if only to be alone
After working so had on myself, I should've known
Oh, so feel; If only I could!
To make this mutual, I know I should.
Why can't I? Though, I act like I do,
These lives given wings, mine sank, his flew!
Like a bird into the hot sun, no second glance behind,
All the while I was the only one not flying blind
Perhaps I was, Though I did see his wandering eye
The "hot sun" got to him, and eyes are like minds.
Floating to bliss, so little he knows,
Cupid's arrow had missed, so long ago
Is he returning, if only it was to me.
I always knew he had that yearning, but I let him free
Kept m emotions barred, I can know
Why the caged bird sings
