No eyes allowed from this point on.

You ask what is wrong
but you already know the answer.
The thing I'm attracted to,
is the same one that makes want to scream with rage.

Why is it that you always see through me?
please take off your eyes for a moment.
please leave them on the night table,
so I don't feel so naked around you.

Please let me come to you on my own
and show you what is wrong
before you see it with those eyes.
The same eyes I wanted you to leave on the mat.

You tear down every wall I have so carefully built.
And you don't even try.
It's like you were meant to help me
and I was just destined to strip before your excrutiating eyes.
The very same eyes I asked you to hang next to the keys.

I love the way you talk about the eyes as if they're an object that can be left. Great poem - Drapes

A very well penned piece of poetry you have here. I like the way that you have worded it and the way it comes across to your reader. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for posting it.
