Beauty.
Its very hard for my friend to age she has been beautiful for so long. Holds up a picture of herself taken years ago, asks me if she still looks the same. You look lovely now, I say avoiding the dreaded words: for your age. I understand her plight, when she flashes her eyelids to men half her age, who look alarmed, my heart cries for her. Its difficult to age for one who has been beautiful for so long.

Perhaps one day the beauty within will be revealed and the shell will no longer be a main concern. Beauty is a curse to those who rely on it for their strength.
Nice write about an all to often reality. |

This write expresses so very well what we women go through later in life. If only society would realize that it is okay to age, for true beauty radiates from the INSIDE.
