Theres a jingle on the line for better yesterdays that come hard to recollection. Please sweep me away from deserted today, nothing more than an already forgotten memory.
Hide me from the terrifying tomorrows that gnash their uncertain teeth in the face of a dying child. The winds of change are blowing and wouldn't you know they're picking up speed.

I love how a poem is also a tool for understanding. I felt that when reading this as it stretches across the reality of what is being experienced to a place of process & handling the curves and blows of existence especially in the face of the varying speeds of change.
I would add reading your poem aloud while editing may help you find the lyrical flow to become happy with it. Also try removing your self from the piece to get at its core action then if needed reinsert the pronouns to flesh out your expression.
Good Job
Peace
