Fading Nirvana

Contributed by flirtyrockstar on Saturday, 22nd February 2003 @ 12:30:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Never watched leaves burn so beautifully
It makes up for me sitting so pitifully
Watching the embers release into darkness
And electrify with a vibrant orange

Wish I could forget you like the ashes
Put you out whenever your flaire flashes
But your personality sparks every now and then
Luring me back with one smoltering hope

With that hope I try and create a fire
Deep within us, which we may admire
But each attempt has failed, and it hurts
Someone always putting our your own hopes

Like cigarrettes, smashed and ground
Contained in the ashtray, I can be found
Beneath the faulty layers of powder grey
And you never notice my pain or my tears

I've been right there in front of you all along
Hoping with you I will finally belong
But I've stroked your face a million times
Just before the lights go out, and I'm left blind

And I've called your name from the dark
Hoping you'll again release your spark
Though it's times like these I lose you
You go tie yourself up to someone else's door

How many nights will you leave me waiting
With a feeling inside that's leading to hating

How can my trust advance from these lies
How can a love see through different eyes

Liz a great poem sometimes our pain leads us to write great poems. This was utterly brilliant. In talking with you and e-mailing you I have concurred that you are an amazing person like many on this site. I have learned that many ppl are not worthy of our love and no matter how hard we try we can't get beneath their stubborn skull and make them see us for who we really are. Liz dry your tears you are better than this guy.
Maybe there is a guy out there who wants you to love him. E-mail me if u want to talk...
Once again a great poem.

Your friend,
Joel

Great poem ... I agree with Joel - he is not worthy of your love - someone with such emotion and so much love to give should lavish it on someone worthwhile :))) .... Jan
