You know exactly what I mean ......................

Contributed by Malcolmsdreamgirl on Wednesday, 21st February 2007 @ 08:11:13 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Monday morning yet again, everyone rushing out
Hubbie off to work, the kids to school, as "Mind the Roads" you shout ...
A deep sigh your duties done,....... Hubs sandwiches, and kids lunch sorted too
Time for a coffee MMmmm,.... a quick sit down, then other things to do .......

Monday is an ironing day ( The weekend was for washing ) .......
And OH SO MUCH IRONING there...You know that I'm not joshing.....
His shirts and pants and socks and stuff, the kids multiplied by three
Just how many changes can they make a day? They make far more than me!

And don't forget the bedding and the continental quilt
I tried to leave them all this week,....but was then ridden with guilt!
First the pillow slips to iron, always easy and fast ......
Then the dreaded duvet cover, No that I'll leave til last!

Fighting thru his shirts for work, I wonder why there's six?
Oh yes he spilt his breakfast down, that dreaded weetabix!
Gosh nearly done, I'm ironing fast today, I wonder why that is?
Nearly finished kids as well, and mine, wonder what.. time 'tis?

Goodness me, late afternoon, no wonder almost done
Best get finished, and tidied away... and dinner for my sons
Ah ,that feels so good, to look and see,..... the washing ironed and put away
But there will always be that washing there forever and a day

For no matter how many times ,we wash and iron and put away
That bin is always full again ,come the end of day
I suppose part of trial and trivulations sent for us to try
Ah well ,,, oh dear ... ho hum n all off to bed bye bye x

Malcolmsdreamgirl, Yes in deed the dirty laundry that always builds and keeps us so busy. I like this creative piece related to a daily chore for many and weekly for a few. You are quite a creative poet with your writing style, giving all of your readers a great big heartfelt smile. Please keep penning and sharing your thoughts, a special talent is what you got. Thank you for sharing both your awesome words of poetry and yourself with all of us.

Your Dear Friend
