Tiny slits in your eyes

I know a place where every buddy enjoys their sleep

A far off distance place
Where the sand that falls is sleepy dust
And the stars glisten a thousand time fold
High in the sky and lights cover the land below.

Looking down from the even higher heavens
The Great Spirit caught sight of three children playing
When they should be obviously sleeping.

A little red skinned boy and a little green skinned boy
Dancing round
A little brown skinned girl standing
Eyes wide open and skipping from side to side
Pleading over
And over again
Tell me a story then I"II go to bed.

The little red skinned boy Tom stopped where he stood
And the little green skinned boy Ali stopped too
Sitting on down ,
Cross legged and elbows resting on knees
The three of them sat quietly
Then finally Tom began

Far away and deep in a village
The old ones were fighting
Over the other colored ones
and said they had to much land

So they called a grand circle of green and red
All stood and just gnashed their teeth at each other and
Shouted boost about who was the better
A race round and round the mighty Elder tree
Was the final decree?

Both sides agreed and so it will be
From each group came the strongest and stealthest of men.
A tall, reasonably thin and muscled toned lad of 23.
From the other
A equal lad of worth and vigor as well

Running round and round they ran
Round that Old Elder Tree
Faster and faster till they were
Just a Blur

And when the dust settled
And the starlight due nigh
Only one brave soul emerged from the Race

And surprised all that remained present there
There stepped from a great light
A Small, gentle young girl with fawn brown eyes
And Brown skin

With a quick wit and tales that kept both groups together
For a long time.
And as Time passed more brown ones were to come.
But this one special little girl was
Very lucky as well as rare

For shes the one that comes and sprinkles the sleepy time
Dust in your eyes
And carries all children no matter what color their skin
To happy, glad ,fun playing places.
So close your eyes and try real hard and through
The tiny slits in your eyes
You can see her come by

Now sleep and dream my liittle one

It is a beautiful story told with simple yet elegant and ingenious fashion, I hope and pray that -
"A Small, gentle young girl with fawn brown eyes
And Brown skin"
comes in our (grown ups) dream too. so that we too may sleep peacefully.
thank you for sharing.

FRANCO.

What a wonderful tale of telling a tale. I am sure there were tickle places with shrugs and hugs and a true feeling of being tucked in.

Bravo
