The flood

Eyes opened wide
as the flood breaks through
My heart torn in two
my life ripped away
Twisted and turned
and shoved in my face
Drowning and squirming
this fight I can't win
As I slowly stop breathing
and my pulse ceases
As my body is crushed
beneath the pressure of waves
