He told me a story and I listened without fear
I thought it might haunt me as he whispered in my ear
Though it may not matter any more
This is what happened to him and his girl
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
As time passed on he trusted her
The moment was right so he married her
Less than a month he cheated on her
To his advantage he left her
~
Hated words were spoken
Hearts were shattered and broken
They left the room
Both had to take a moment or two
~
She came back and forgave him
She never blamed him
She cried and wept in front of him
She said she was lonely with out him
~
The fight was over he hugged her
To the hour he kissed her
Waited a while to tell her
He cant take it anymore hes leaving her
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I listened with grief and pain
I didnt want to hear it again
The lies were told and there was no going back
The misfortune that laid their path
