Nature ..... Gentle & Harsh

Contributed by conce4u on Monday, 5th March 2007 @ 05:31:25 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Sometimes wind, sometimes rain and sometimes snow;
Rules of nature, simple, yet so complex, we hardly know.
Though technology and science can only warn us of the Imbroglio
Wrath of nature, when in full flow, nobody can put an embargo.

Mother Nature is not always harsh, in fact she is not harsh at all;
We the sons of the soil, if you see, have no heart at all;
Felling trees, reclaiming land, exploding mountains we do it all;
Yet, like a patient mother, she bears it all.

Just imagine how, nature as gentle as feather can be as menacing as the floods
The loss, the destruction, the blood, Oh!!, I dont have enough words.
In a swish, it can bring down our castles and our dream worlds
The very thought sends shivers down the spine, Oh God!! In prayer, I lift my hand upwards.

So friends, If you want your Generation next to see a happy rainbow
Wake up, wake others and stop this mad show;
For every tree you fell, every inch of land you reclaim, every mountain you explode sets a chain reaction, I guess you ought to know
Enjoy nature but dont fidget with it for your ego;
Else, you may be in for a big blow.

I love the sentiment and feel the talent behind the pen. This piece is ambitious and wants to work a metric somewhere between lyric and poem. Try reading out loud as a part of the editing process. Keep the pen flowing.

Peace

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
