Twist's Torment

Contributed by Nazmythian on Thursday, 8th March 2007 @ 11:21:24 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

Twists Torment

Stick pins and needles
Shards of glass and some of clay
Rusted nails and a chainsaw
Balsa wood, a razor blade

Sand paper, a cold chisel
One large candle and a match
Hot oil and some honey
Perhaps a heavy duty plastic bag

Dry ice and some duct tape
A hammer, a baseball bat
Vise grips, and an anvil
A willingness to not look back

Pipe cleaners, a few wire ties
Dont forget the splitting maul
I believe I would be ready
If I could Twist a voodoo doll

~ Nazmythian ~

I could perhaps, offer an explanation, but instead I'll just point you in the direction of Tran Siberian Orchestra's album ... Beethoven's Last Night, it has proven to be the source of much inspiration. You'll find it ... here

Ahh...what a twisted turn...where I come from we call that a rinky-dinky...i.e...a little 'un and a good 'un...I just like it.

That was interesting. You should write more poems like it... it's refreshingly different.

Having reviewed the lyrics and your work here this elegy clearly delineates poetry from mere song:

"...Mephistopheles points out through a window to a child sleeping in the gutter. He tells the old man that he owns this child's life and in great detail lists all the horrors and suffering that she will experience in her short existence..."

A Sling Blade Theme Park Full of Red De-lights is implied within.

As comprehension is not all it is cracked up to be I got about 20 different ideas blooming in my head and these will entertain for quite awhile.

Bravo

Peace
Yang

Oh my dearest snazzzzzzzz .. (you KNEW I'd adore this, yes?)

wow, hun. I am so incredibly jealous. This was amazing work.
I, like AJ, was reminded of that near to the end song. (But
you are no Mephistopheles .. and Twist is just misguided ..)
lol

Fate .. now SHE should be explaining a few things, no?
Though, this piece, itself, I know is not the way fate works ..
her methods are far less clear, and her intent is even
more muddy .. but yeah .. how wonderful to be able to
(as you say) Twist a voodoo doll .. and perhaps not
even one in the likeness of a person, but of an unwanted
emotion .. how GREAT would that be if we could exercise
them at the drop of a hat? (or doll, as it were?)

God .. I love this. I love it completely!

with all humility and envy, dear poet ..
