The Ache Inside

Contributed by sena on Saturday, 17th March 2007 @ 11:39:47 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

My head aches terribly.
Voices louder than they are.
Thoughts somewhere else, somewhere far.
I keep asking myself...
Where it all went wrong.
Never right from the beginning...
Now I see I stayed too long.
I'm still in love with you...
Even after all the bitter.
I wake every morn with you on my mind.
With every thought I reluctantly shiver.
It is hard to believe...
That you're not in my life.
Even though we weren't perfect...
I still wanted to be your wife.
I never wanted such things before...
Would always run away from the pressure.
I opened up to you in so many ways...
But it wasn't good enough, always lesser.
I'm having a hard time...
Still trying to face the facts...
That you never loved me...
That you turned your back.
You severed all ties,
When I needed you most.
You took out my trust....
You nailed it to a post.
Just like a wanted poster...
Dead or alive.
But I still loved you...
Knowing we wouldn't survive.
I kept hoping that you would love me,
Even in pain and weakness.
But just like all the rest, you didn't.
Now poetry has become my preistess.
I know these tears will stop one day...
But it will always hurt...
Far more than anything physical...
Far more than the port beneath my shirt.
I'll meet someone new...
Perhaps oneday, smile again.
Just because you didn't love me...
Doesn't mean I won't be loved in the end!

Terrably sad to think it not today

This is so moving. The outpour of emotion is outstanding. I agree that writing poetry is a way to pour out all the hurt built inside good therapy. Believe me I know it has helped me reagin my innerself. Very beautiful job.
