As the Sewage flew pass and the Water ran dry

How many things can you say before they shoot you down
From the shell of a rifle to silence your sound,
To block out what truth you could ever formulate
And any attempts you could some day create?

There's a baby in the woods and she's all alone,
Silent as a mouse,as solid as stone.
In torn, dirty diapers, lost by an old oak tree
Lacking it's name and self identity.
She cries for the sun holes letting in light.
The forest is angry, she won't last the night.

We mark out the reasons and soften the blow
From all our dead dreams refusing to grow.
Wear wincer knot ties and white collar shirts
Forgetting stale fears for fresh alerts.

I see an old man blind folding a boy,
Waiting for his father to come, he makes the kid decoy,
Old man explains, "kid's not safe, but he can be, so do something for me."
Daddy agrees and goes searching for old man's enemy.
The trade's completed but in the end
Father finds boy dead by the old river bend.

Empty pockets are never seeming to fill
As we follow golden blimps hoping they'll explode and spill.
This is misfortunate fortune in the eyes of the blind
From the bear trap bungalows they're hiding behind.

If the reason is lost it would seem the cost is too,
Till it gets recycled into something pretending it's new.
With a fake face and some splashed on slogan
And shining new paint hiding the inside eroding.

But there was something I heard,

It was a voice down a sewer drain
Speaking as loud as a railroad train.
And like a locomotive it was saying, "Try...try...try"
As the sewage flew pass and the water ran dry.
Some day, maybe, it will speak to you
That is, of course, if you want it too

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
