Hearts In Danger

Contributed by girlg0newrong on Sunday, 25th March 2007 @ 02:01:02 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

It's cold outside, another rainy day
she just sits quiet, nothing to say
while he sips his drink, pretends to read
and gets caught up, in ignoring everything
and they're aren't happy, and neither sad
they don't feel anything, that's just as bad
she's tried holding on, he's tried letting go
both so reluctant, but nothing to show

The day fades slow, another night to go
to lay down next to, the one you loathe
he takes a breath, and slips in bed
pulls up the blankets, and turns his head
and there's her face, a sleeping angel
he used to love, now he feels strangled
locked up tight, he knows there's no escape
she pretends to sleep, praying to dream her life away

Lay down and sleep pretend you feel something and fake it till it bleeds
you know you'll never get anywhere this way, you know you'll never move on
when you play for keeps you risk it all, this is what you get and it's being
together forever with a perfect stanger, and it's too late now
our hearts are in danger, my heart is in danger

How did something once so good
turn to this misunderstood
mix of emotions that drowned in the oceans
of the tears we shed just trying to get closer?

How did something once so alive
die so quickly in front of our eyes?
I guess we moved into it a little too fast
sometimes love gets killed in process of simply trying to make it last

Sad but well written. Many can relate to this one.
Big huggs,
emy
