Somehow, in the blink of an eye
Time goes by
Crawling in diapers
I hear my heart beat
I'm standing taller
Stronger with a sense of reasoning
But never have I felt more confused
A thesaurus of mixed emotions
Because what I have is becoming what I had
Everything and everyone is slipping through my grasp
I hold on for dear life
Just one more second I plead
So I can hurt a little more
If only so I can enjoy where I am
Of what I have left
I hear the last bell
I'm standing taller
The future a bottomless well
But never have I felt lonelier
And I guess thats when I finally understood
That there was nothing left to do
But go
But I couldnt
How could I?
I remained looking back in wonder
And all I could do was close my eyes
And wish that it would never end

You capture the emotions perfectly, this poem was very evocative for me and I'm sure most people will have experienced these gut-wrenching feelings of anticipation tinged with sadness at times past.
I enjoyed reading,
