Fire Within

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Saturday, 5th May 2007 @ 06:32:02 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

There's a fire smoldering
deep inside of me
been there
I would expect
for an eternity

It makes me tick
It's what makes me so
It's an inner pyre
which determines my soul

It has kept me sane
when it shouldn't have
it's what helps me
fight the demons
that still haunt
from long ago

A fire bright
blue flames
unblemished
burns so red hot
no one can
extinguish

Penned 2005 or 2006
Laura Horner

Wow sis! This is incredible. You have an innate ability to
capture emotion and express it so freely...

The last stanza really gripped me ... it may be the colour
suggestive. Very emotive.

Though things are painful right now grab at the flame and rage forward, it is there and it will sustain you sis. Powerful and strength I find in this.

huge hugs

Loved this. The flames of fire are certainly evident in this piece. Long may it burn. Sue x
