The first year or so
Was the greatest of my life
Whenever I needed you
You were there by my side.
Then things slowly started to change
You forgot about me to be with your friends
It made me start to think.
Are we gonna be together 'til the end.
The worst day of my life
You choose to be with them over me.
It made me think of old times
That's how I want it to be.
I want us to work things out
I want us to be together
I want it to be how we said
I want us to be forever.
We didn't take things as we should have
We rushed one particular thing
And it all started when you gave me
Just an innocent ring
Even though your mother said
That it made you more mature
We weren't yet ready for it
So I'll wait for you, I assure
