Though life is gone
Love is not
Peace seems elusive
Yet close at hand

Skies are blue
Winds blow gently
Beauty abounds
Until eyes close

Then it hurts
Mightily
Through the darkness
Truth arrives

God is here
Yes, God is here
Yes, HE MUST be here
Yes, God is here

Gone
A soldier's end
Gone
Forevermore
