if memories could be repeated
every moment with you
would constantly replay
and I'd never tire
of your face
I'd always live
in the past
but memories can only last so long
until we forget
about your once living face
until
the warmth of your flesh
fades from our senses
until we finally
can't take the pain
of losing you
of losing the only thing
that ever really made sense
that ever really meant something
to everyone and everything
and already after
your time had ended
do the roses
grow darker and sharper
than before and with a single touch
it shows the blood
staining the rose
staining our souls
from a tragic loss
of something more
than just a pretty face
of something
that really ever gave us a reason for living
in the past
for so many years
