Between March and May

Contributed by spreadyourwings on Friday, 25th May 2007 @ 03:56:57 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Curtains closed and the volume low
And tomorrow night is the long drive home
Far away from the past semesters
And late night readings
Leaving behind the sun cause I dont belong
Leaving the views because they dont mean anything anymore
Im not gonna make my way to the city
Or ever cross those bridges again
To the place that makes me smoke too many cigarettes
And think too much about the distance around
Oh when the month of March held me close
And my love for the county grew
The closest I ever got was never close enough
And I drove back lonesome
As the rush hour traffic swallowed me whole
Suburbs arent convincing
When the movies play so slow
And I cant even get a phone call
That lets me know that youre alright
I couldve fallen asleep an hour ago
But I hold onto the thought that something exists
Whether it be in the future or in the past
So close my eyes and hush this chaos
And leave behind the messes in the kitchen
Youve got me thinking that something is bound to happen
You were the one who calmed me down
And laid me onto the sheetless mattress
As you kissed my tensing forehead goodnight
But never again, not now, not ever
Away from the mountains and the valley I call home
Im sorry darling
I never realized how bad it hurt that night
And everything you had seen that past year
But just know that Im as lost as you
Without a place to ever make me feel home
And without a single word to say
