How many times do you try at love
Before you decide you're just fed up
The ups, the downs, the inbetweens
And how nothing is how it seems
The emptiness that still remains
That one love that makes nothing the same
How he remains in your thoughts almost everyday
And how you said goodbye with so much left to say
Knowing that no other guy will ever measure up
No new love will ever be enough
To take away the pain he brought to you
How he walked away from a love so true
You talked about kids and sharing a life
Talked about how you were to be his wife
And then everything changes and you don't know why
Left confused, remembering how hard you tried
And you try to move on, find someone else
Putting your true love upon the dusty shelf
And finding out that it will never work
Realizing you'll never let go of the hurt
Trying to figure out why he's still in your dreams
But keeping in mind, nothing is as it seems.

And how you said goodbye with so much left to say . . . this line is riveting. A truly disheartning and unsettling feeling when love goes awry. beautifuly expressed and well presentend.Sorry for your pain hope thing's get better for you, the past can be an awfule place to be sometimes. take care . . .
