Father

I wish I had the answer's,
To dry these tears in my eye's,
I wish I had the insight,
To tell the truth from the lie's,

Father why did you leave me?
Making this scar so deep,
Why do you never come to see me?
I wish these promise's you'd keep,

You promised that you'd be there,
I waited for you all day,
I don't think that you really care,
No matter at my post I'll stay,

I've waited for you for three days,
What have I done for you to hate me so,
Did I let you down in some way?
Please tell me I need to know,

You won't be around for ever,
Than again neither will I,
Please don't leave it at never,
I think I'm starting to cry,

You know I was only seven,
That day you promised me that you'd stay,
And now I'm only 11,
And your drunk 10 hours away,

The years have change me dad,
I don't see it all the same way,
I know that I was mad,
But that's no reason to stay away,

I held my self responsable,
Thinking that it was only me,
I thought my self disposable,
Only now I truly see,

The pain it must have caused you,
Knowing what you had done,
Knowing I only wanted to see you,
Hoping we could have some fun,

Dad you won't be around for ever,
Then again neither will I,
I'll wait for you forever,
Even though it makes me cry....

Touching write, written with conviction and feeling. I hope someday the two of you reunite and make up for the time you lost

Holy good. I wish that you would read that to your dad, maybe then he would understand.
