You had me from the very start,
I keep it bottled in my heart,
I loved you more then you will ever know,
But somehow it just fails to show,
I put so much effort into something,
Something that makes my heart sing,
But again I get nothing in return,
And their eyes express concern.
I constantly worry about what you think,
The look in your eyes make my heart sink,
I wonder then, what will you say,
When will you see what I try to convey,
I try to impress you by any means,
But it's all tangled in ignorant dreams,
You see nothing but what I lead on,
But I want you to know before the chance is gone.
I care so deeply, it's true,
But I'm totally ignored by you,
No matter how hard I try,
My hearts left awry.
You push me lower and lower every day,
There's nothing that I can do or say.
Verbal abuse, but it doesn't discourage,
I keep my head high, for lack of courage.
You smile, I melt,
If you only knew how I felt.
You speak, my heart flutters,
I talk to you and I begin to stutter.
I fall, you laugh,
I let this speak on your behalf,
I speak, I'm ignored,
Emotion I can not afford.
If I could change my mind, my attitude, my life,
Anything to end this painful strife,
I would trade it all just for you,
But I don't think even that would do,
I want you to know that I'd do anything for you,
I'd change everything about me just for you,
But why do I bother when I we will never share,
This deep emotion for you that I care.
