The Broken, The Beaten, and The Damned

Contributed by chrono110 on Saturday, 9th June 2007 @ 01:47:28 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

They tell me that I’m worthless
I’ll never get it right
I’ll fight long after they are gone
And long into the night
Look at that which you have not seen
I stand before you now
I look at them
And not at the ground
Turn to dust before my eyes
Blow away with the wind
Go back into the starry skies
No longer do I exist to you
So neither do you
The pain in my soul has ripped me in two
No longer will I be whole
Help me now see I can truly be something worthwhile
Even to me
Throw your heart out to me
I’ll catch it in my hand
I promise I won’t turn it to sand
For I am one of the broken, the beaten, and the damned
That is who I am
Help me hold on through the night
I see now I’m losing the fight
I need to get this right
Will you take a chance?
Or walk away without a glance?
Must I wait forever for this pain to go away?
What do you say?
Tell me now the words I want to hear
Is it so hard to utter?
Give me now your hand
And lead me away
Away from the beaten, the broken, and the damned
Heal my soul
And make it whole
Tell me I belong here
Not far away
But very near
And tell me finally the words I want to hear
Welcome home

Holy crackers, your poetry is better than mine! If someone doesn't like your work, they need to be in a straight jacket!
