I woke up shivering, the roof was away
With rain hitting my face with clouds so gray
And wild were their faces, smiling like menaces
They were all pretending to be my friends
Drove on a parade float like an amusement coaster ride
Watching pedestrians laughing as I passed them on the side
They were people that I had seen before
At wakes and summer dancing floors,
They were leading a path edged into the ground
Anywhere
And everything
Coastal guards, the wisdom sings
All I am, is inside a downpour on a leaf riding shores
Im just living in between the days
There are windows, like prison bars they stay
You can peek out in the world; you can look into the fray
And see some girls selling lemonade, wondering to set the mood
You could buy some and send it down the drain
But lately the hospitals are excepting gentleman
Theres no hair on their heads, off masks of oxygen
And I was once a spectacle, I heard my tutors ridicule
I hear you learn something new whenever you go to sleep
Every time
And any night
Day noon dreams, the wisdom sings
All I am, is a mention, on some passing intersection
Im just living in between the days
Listening to love songs
Not because youre in love
Not because you relate
Because you cant find it
Because you cant wait
Not willing to live it
Not wanting to risk it
I turned into a figure of speech
Some goal just out of my reach
Im just living in between the days
