The child makes many mistakes
But the mother forgives them all
Oh God show her the light
The light has come to me...
For her I toiled day and night...
Ferrying her across to a new world
Alas, the journey was never meant to be
She chose a faster boat over my ferry...
Now I cannot call this new land our home
But my struggle will go on
And I will toil till my heart goes on...
Oh god, but lead her across to a new world
The child makes many mistakes
But the mother forgives them all
Oh god show her the light
The light has come to me...
