Friendships end
in broken trust
ties are severed
in times of lust
the lies you've sold
have come unglued
along with all
the secrets
I withheld in you
Did you think I wouldn't know,
'best friends' was all a lie?
that's not how my story goes
I can't let this one slide
Everyone's onto you
they catching onto your act
Don't you know they're using you?
you get what you give back
'my everything'
meant nothing
as it slipped right through your ears
I trusted you with my heart
with the one I've loved for years
and when you said
you'd promise me
that you'd let this one go
I'll never know how I believed you
I'll never know how I trusted you
you can say I have a hurtful tongue
but what was yours when it reached his mouth?
and when your fingers brushed his lips
did ever stop to doubt?
you promised me
apology can't fix what you've done
you promised me
I'll say 'goodbye'
but I won't say 'it's been fun'
mistakes once told me
'secrets kill'
I never realized then
I know you'll never have to feel
what I feel again and again
but in this world
there is only love and hate
for you only one will ever find it's place
because to love
you have to care
and let actions help words ring true
and to love
you have to care
for more than just you
