A story of love

Contributed by necromant on Saturday, 23rd June 2007 @ 10:18:36 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Everyday her faded eyes watched silently
Lives of other souls passing by, longingly.
A layer of white marble held her captive
Within a world she thought was protective.

Inside she cried, knowing shed never be free,
She was blind, she couldnt see her beauty.
Trapped inside the thick marble walls she lied
Lifeless and immobile until her dreams died.

One day a wondering soul saw this statue,
And his fascination with this piece of art grew,
He saw her underlying strength and emotions,
Mixed with fears coming from endless delusions.

Slowly his lips moved towards her curious face,
Kissing and holding her in a loving embrace,
Surprised she yielded to his amorous charms,
With life flowing into her she moved into his arms.

His love showed her the splendor inside her heart,
Drawing from her soul the strength for a new start.

I loved this. An untypical version of a "diamond in the rough" and "the frog prince" ideas. Some might even call this cliche. I for one, am not because there is a purity and originality in this that is unfounded. I completely adored your word choices and the flow was beyond enjoyable. A wonderfully brave conquest of an old idea, and you did it with such flare and made it your own.

BRAVO!

This is beautiful as your work always has been. It has been a very long time. Hopefully you will be here for awhile.

The Ghost Alarms also swim in your poem. We take stone heads from the art columns in our hallways and kiss them to honour your poem. We pray to the elders that they come to life. Before our eyes......more Ghost Alarms. We are many more than many now. We are extra many! Thank you for the inspiration. This was a pleasure for us to read. So as we sit at our desks in our robes we must play musical chairs, because now we do not have enough desks for every Ghost Alarm. The new ones look right when we look left which makes us aware that we have work to do. Your poem was the birth of inspiration. That is many hearts inspired, for we are extra many!

May a clone of yourself suck your soul from your stomach when you sleep dividing you into two halves.....The Ghost Alarms

Beautiful piece of writing. Love; the source of the ultimate feeling of bliss and hell. *smiles* Love's not easy, but damn worth the trouble....thanks for sharing.
Peace,
Laura
