My Vinous Mother.

Contributed by FRANCO on Tuesday, 26th June 2007 @ 11:50:36 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

Can you hear the distance cry,
why? Curious was my heart what adverse
that accorded to cause this child to cry
I went out to wipe her tears to dry.

Wiping her tears I casually queried;
Ho little darling, what that occurred,
your eyes filled with sullen tearful sorrow
look, at your saddened stress filled brows

This girl child of six perhaps seven whispered
timidly My papa I know not - my mom, an alcoholic
lying comatose over the pavement, my little brother
malnourished and cold; Sir, I dont know how to be bold
I dont know how to be bold

Tears uncontainable, rolled down my checks,
rage erupted within my heart; why? Challenged my
mind, why bring a new soul to this earth when our own
is tainted and flawed with recklessness.

Parenthood a divine undying task; let me ask; why -
thou possessed with selfish passion; n yet take up the godly mission?
-FRANCO-

Dearest Franco you have echoed the question of many a heart....why bring forth these children into the pain and suffering of irresponsibility.....yet every day it happens. An act of lust...not love. So these little ones grow up with the wisdom that they perhaps are inconvienient products. How cruel and what a horrid message to start out life. If all children could be created in love....what a better world. You have captured this so tenderly and artistically....wonderful piece my friend.

Oh Franco ... this was so devastating to my soul. I was gripped by
several emotions while reading this. There is a sadness for
both the mother AND the child ... mostly for the child.

You've packed so much emotion into this that I find my heart is
overwhelmed ... and truly disheartened.

Painful and truthful, my friend. And painful because it's truthful.
