Its knocking on my door
My greatest fear has found me
I huddle in the corner
Hiding in myself
Hoping to elude this monster
Knock, knock, knock
As loud and fierce as a gun shot
With each bang shivers appear on my skin
The phone rings
A solemn voice talks
The c word escapes her lips
The door breaks down
I am sprawled out on the floor eyes shut tight
Bright lights shine down on me
Pain seers thru body
Knights in white try to fight the monster
Their weapons sharp and fierce
I feel the monster attach to me
It heads toward the darkness
Its grip is tight
Its pull is strong
A brush of cold air flows over me
My eyes open
The knights in white stand over me
Sympathetic eyes are all that are seen with their steel white masks
Is the monster gone I ask?
Then swirling circling down a spiral I awake in my bed listening to the continuous knock at the door
My confused body walks to the door
My hand touches the handle
My ashamed body slips into the darkness

I like this. Very good write. I love how you made the cancer a monster.
Your body should never be ashamed...you're strong to be able to write about it and confront it.
