Today I Hugged a Soldier Boy

Today I hugged a soldier who had courage in his heart.
A war to fight ,a cause to be, a war he did not start.
He knew of all the people that he shared his time that day,
the safety that he gave to them, thus saluting on his way.
The youth of face, the body strong, he made a wonderous sight.
The noble warrior Scott I hugged and he must go to fight.
I send him wings to fly above the danger he will find.
I send to him the clarity and accuracy of mind.
I send to him the love of every Mother, Father here.
I send him heart of peace to bare the monster he must fear.
For war is but that alien who does not show its face.
War removes the joy of love in Gods most loving place.
It tears the hearts of souls who only ask to be alive.
It crushes all the beauty of a planet which must thrive.
It leaves the scars of every human bleeding for all time.
My arms held you today my friend, God forgive humanities crime.

May peace find us and Harmony with all soon be a way of life.

This is a piece of work as good as it gets! It displays a knowing, compassionate and loving understanding for folks who must serve their country beyond the realm of the "thirty second sound bite" of criticism. Ya got a winner here, Needle!

Wonderful tribute, ND. It almost brings a tear to my eye
how dedicated these men and women are to our country
and the freedoms we so dearly love, (and many take
for granted).

I adored this .. God forgive humanities crime

I can't even rightly say why ... just that it gives me comfort
somehow ..

Wonderful write. Simply beautiful.
