Bride and groom
An odd couple make
When Bride is fairy
And Groom is snake
But love bloomed strong
Under honeysuckle vine
As in lasting embrace
These two did entwine
No one knows how
This story will end
They only know
They had always been friends
Since she found him
Just emerging from the egg
She felt bad for him
He had no wings or legs
But his spirit was strong
And he slithered with glee
And around the forest
They played happily
Soon love bloomed
And never far apart
For all their differences
They were together in heart

wow Shari. What a beautiful analogy. This reminded me
a bit of "The Owl and the Pussycat." Your last line was
so strong and profound. The meter and the rhyme just
added to it's all 'round enjoyment.

Oh gosh Shari, I loved the wonderful meaning you have conveyed in this write. No matter what the differences are....if two people/animals *smiles* love one another, then so be it. I really enjoyed this, my friend. Thank you for putting warmth in my heart and a smile on my face.
