There he lies, on his side, on the floor, with the dirt and diesease,
People point and stare, with uncaring eyes, But he knows what they think,
He hobbles into town, to beg for food, maybe some money, Or a crum of bread,
He has not eaten for days, He wishes he was dead, At 67 this man has been forgoten, Who won a war for British shores.
And a bullet in his hand.
His torn clothes, and his long beard, his big shoes, spending every night in fear,
No home or friendly hand held out in welcome, No cheery glow of fire, no warmth of food, there is none, No shelter when the cold wind blows, No refuge from the sleet and snow; In a harsh uncaring world he knows He has neither friend or foe.

Very compassionate write. It is hard to believe the way some people live and survive in this world....some overflow with riches while others like the homeless are forgotten and alone. Truly a tragedy that a man be so messed up from a war that they can't find their way back home again.....(I think you know my meaning there).
Much peace,
