The Prettiest Eyes of All

Contributed by Savannah on Saturday, 1st March 2003 @ 11:40:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

It's a sea of people out there
All with two eyes, two windows to the soul
Green eyes and brown eyes
Blue eyes and hazel eyes
But the eyes that I'm looking for
Are the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them
In a sweet guy with an innocent face
Who was a nice as could be
And who chose me just after I chose him
But then I realized that his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them again
In a tall guy with great abs
Who played soccer and kissed softly
And kept me tucked under his arm
But it turned out that his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them later
In a friendly guy with black hair
Who had a hat I hated and a freckle I loved
And a tough shell only I wiggled through
But in the end his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them once more
In a surprising guy who was quite the athlete
Who had an amazing house and a nice mom
And hard kisses I desired for so long
But after a while I knew that his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them another time
In an older guy with smooth skin
Who had poems he'd written and curly hair
And an accent that pulled at my heart
But after the effect wore off, his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all

I thought I had found them just once more
In a guy with a cute name and a cuter face
Who made me laugh and was good a puzzles
And lent me his sweatshirt when I was cold
And when it comes right down to it
I'm not sure that his eyes
Weren't the prettiest eyes of all
