I wish
I could take a few steps back
and start from the beginning,
where I can face
my many biggest mistakes
in my life once more
and mend them -- even if
I can't quite compensate fully
for all of them. I wish
I could
unwind my personality,
zip my mouth,
and even tie my limbs together
just so that I
wouldn't have done and said
all those petty actions and words
to tear through
your and my own soul.
I wish
I didn't have to be
like this.
That I might've
been someone you appreciated
before I thoughtlessly threw myself
over the dark pits.
I wish I wasn't me.
I wish I was somebody you wanted.
