Thinking of Another

Contributed by unforgiven on Wednesday, 18th July 2007 @ 10:26:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

It's raining outside,
Water sliding down my window.
The patter of it on my roof,
Timing to the beat of my heart.

I roll over in my bed,
Reaching for someone that once was.
Nothing left in that space now,
A faint warmth that was your body.

If I press my face into the pillow hard,
I can detect the faint hint of your cologne.
Closing my eyes I could see you there,
The feel of your skin on mine.

The slight indent where you once lay,
I curl myself into that space.
Imagining it's you im curled around,
Your arm lying across my middle,
Your heat at my back.

If I never have anything again,
I wouldn't mind but for this feel.
Even though I know it's not real,
That when my eyes are open you're gone.
Nothing matters but now,
In this room,
This bed,
With the thought of you.

Oh my gosh .... I don't even have adequate words to describe
what this write did to me. DAMN! It is torn. and so bloody painful.

let me just say this .... you have accomplished a deeply moving
write and one that can't possibly allow the reader NOT to feel
by the end ... absolute, beautiful torture ~

Bravo poet. Bravo!
