He says he doesnt love you
He says he hopes you die
He says that he gets satisfaction
Every time he sees you cry.
You say that he really doesnt mean it
You say hes just had a bad day
You forget to mention how you start to tremble
Every time he passes your way.
Hes broken down your spirit
Hes stolen your every dream
Hes become a symbol of adversity
Thats made it impossible for you to scream.
You cover your bruises with giggles
You hide your scars with smiles
You shield your pain with laughter,
And try to mask the despair of your trials.
But I can see all of your heartache
I see all of your unshed tears
Ive watched you shrivel up in his presence
Ive watched you succumb to all of your fears.
And I wonder what you thought as he killed you
If you regretted your choices in the end
And I wish that instead of trying to change him
Youd taken the loving advice of a friend.

| its really sad to think about how true your poem is. its sad that some women end up killed bc of the men who "love" them |
