Fading Glimmer

Contributed by wizard on Sunday, 29th July 2007 @ 04:27:40 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

A silent night as spiral clouds hover cross the
moon like black and gray smoke; a lone ship
on the horizon lending a glow to this starless night.

The calm sea crashing on the shore, sounding
more like a stream than an ocean, resting while
its tenants teem restlessly scavenging.

Soon the clouds engulf the moon, and the glimmer
of the ocean peaks evanesce. As this vision is
beheld the poet knows not what to write, yet manages
a few meager lines, scribbled in the darkness.

The damp sand, cool and yielding, may be his bed this
night, for this sky he cannot bid farewell this sky,
beautiful in its blackness is his perfect cover

He drifts off, pen in hand, pad on chest. His weary
head resting on a mound of sand; some of these
grains surely used by others to rest upon,
dream uponwrite upon.

He is more than willing to continue the cycle as
is the night to lend a musing eye a simple tale to
be told; if only for the sake of filling a page.

I absolutely love the image you painted inside my head with your exquisitely penned words my dear friend. A most descriptive piece of poetry.
May the inks of your beautiful mind always flow so fluently and may your pen never be put down. You are truly gifted Paul.

I have found another in love with the sea. Well, written, I know the feeling the sea gives, may it never leave you. The sea is a wonderful muse.
Take care,
David
