~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the place she comes to be Amongst paintings and sketches is only sweet release, the feeling of control over her paper world. Reality blends into the background of her fantasies, indistinguishable in cross hatching and pastels. This is the place she comes to pretend.
She draws pictures of Amedeo, the one that shes waiting to meet shes sketching her own heartbreak with dull pencils and hands that hope.
Simple and elegant and maybe not extraordinary, but she knows every shade of gray with only one pencil. She knows how to make them beautiful.
Lives change in this place, amongst canvas and oil, people learn to acknowledge their beauty and their faults, when they look themselves in the eyes and see what she sees. But they never leave, stuck in the confines of a two dimensional portrait. They never want to.
an insightful piece. i can draw much from it, and probably thats due to my way of thinking, but that is the beauty of poetry the beauty about art, its the intepreter's conscience that denounces true art from its opposite, and then in this world true art is any art. very nice portrate of the world that engulfs the artist and his/her canvas, a world so strong that easily can be seen as reality. nice.... |
This is beautiful Keilantra, a painting of words.
But there is sadness and loneliness in this also, and the haunting thoughts of someone who can so spectacularly recreate people and understand them in her own mind, but never actually gets out there with them.
Wonderful read!
