Better On The Other Side

Contributed by SmileSkinDeep on Tuesday, 14th August 2007 @ 02:49:13 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

These city wall confines
I just cant stand them
Theyre there all the time
And I cant pretend

That theyre not holding me back
My future, my present, my past
Theyre all here and I cant let it go
They all hurt and I cant let anyone know

I cant pretend
These walls dont affect me
I cant pretend
I dont have bigger dreams

I cant see
Past this spray painted concrete
You just cant see
What the other side means

I NEED to be over this wall
I was born on the wrong side
Without those opportunities Im so small
Without that my spirit dies

You just cant see
If I were over there
How happy Id be
If I didnt have to be scared
To be myself

On this side Im a misfit
On the other: a free spirit
Free to do what I please
Well, the place meets my needs

The ones Ive been born with
So why cant I cross?
Why wont you let me?
I know Im not lost

Wont you let me go
Id be better off you know

On the other side
