Got me a letter,
said; you better do better,
written in a sighing despair,
written like a dying prayer.

Landed in my backyard, crashing though the midnight air,
a meteor cracked open, a moment captured-- so rare.
Took the letter out,of the burning debris,
like a letter from god, like it was written to me.

It said;
Been sending you this prayer since the beginning of time,
But you’r always way to busy to hear this old rhyme.
Please Mr. Earthman can you please help this soul out,
your image is like me, there is no reason to doubt.

been sending out my prayers, I’ve been getting no reply,
hands together--on my knees, can you please tell me why?
Sending you this letter, this heart’s feeling pain,
Won’t you try and put my boots on? can’t you feel my shame?

You send me “your” prayers, by the millions I receive,
I’m supposed-to hear you, but you don’t listen to me.
Mr. Earthman, I gotta universe to run,
you got a million like you, who could be like my son.

You get in some trouble---beg me to bail you out
don’t you know you’r my image? or are you stuck in doubt?
Earth was so grand, when we created this place,
it’s forest and it’s rivers, it was so full of grace.

Earth’s changes have been created by millions like you,
You’ve been praying to me-- now I am praying to you.
You got freedom of choice and you always have,
you better change what you got, or you’ll have what you have.

At the end of this prayer,
found it so odd,
it said;
Please hear me now,
Please, thank you; God.
