lethargy of the soul

Contributed by Torn_Thomas on Monday, 20th August 2007 @ 02:45:46 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

my heart just can't be bothered
it's took too many blows
the ups and downs have crushed me
and on my face it shows

I smile when i'm prompted
when it's expected of me
but rarely in amusement
and never just from glee

my friends just think i'm grumpy
they'll never know the truth
I'm dead inside and have been
since the turmoil in my youth

my heart just can't be bothered
it's took too many blows
but there's still a sliver of hope
and with each day it grows

Thomas,
I loved the title to this. The write was brief, but put together so rhythmically. Sad but with hope at the end. Well done.
Peace,
Laura
