I have something to tell you that will make you hit the ceiling.
But before you have a fit, please consider your daughter's feelings.
She's been dating a man behind your back.
She's kept it a secret because he's black.
You dislike black people, this is true.
What I've said has really upset you.
But you better let go of your hate.
Please do it before it's too late.
Even if you don't approve, they'll get married anyway.
If you don't welcome him, you'll lose her for the rest of your days.
They're good kids and they really love each other.
Go hug your daughter and tell her that you love her.

| wow. this sort of thing is still so prominent today. i dont think anyone could have put it better. people (parents in particular sometimes) need to let go of there dated beliefs and take solace in seeing their child happy, instead of making them who they feel they should be. keep on writing |
