The Dawn

Contributed by mohan on Thursday, 30th August 2007 @ 03:59:01 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

A crimson red streak appears in the eastern sky,
A signal that the Sun is right on its way,
To energise this part of the Earth,
And to inaugurate the days activities.
Cocks on roof tops of distant huts,
Repeatedly crow, heralding the daybreak.
Now and then and here and there,
Some birds make a rhythmic chanting.
The crows perched on the Banyan tree,
Create a commotion;
In a hurry, they are, in search of prey.
The cool balmy breeze blowing gently,
Carrying with it freshness plenty.
The peeping buds waiting to embrace,
The golden rays of the Sun,
To blossom and to open into a big grin,
To captivate our hearts; to enliven our spirits.
The dawn is the perfect hour of the day,
To enjoy beautiful sights under Natures sway.
Dawn charges our depleted body and soul,
Positive energy for the days task in store
And to start the day with hopes galore.
Alas! The dawn will soon be retreating,
Giving way to yet another hectic day,
Disturbing the ambience, delightfully peaceful,
Unsettling the dust, polluting the Earth,
Generating noise and upsetting our mood.
Oh! Dawn why dont you stay for the whole day,
That we may live in peace, rest of the day.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
