Measuring time like the links on a chain
Memories scatter throughout my mind
Paving roads inside my brain
Another link, another turn
Roads traced through the ashes
Of bridges I've watched burn
And some roads wind, some even bend
And just like the flashbacks
Some seem like they will never end
Step by step, link by link
I see your face the more I think
A million roads but only one choice
For I am guided by my heart
And your distant voice
For I have traveled through heaven
And danced through hell
Clung to the edge of a road
And landed on another when I fell
Years and years wrapped along the chain
Keeping me anchored to the memories
And a love that will always remain
Because no matter which direction I take
Or what I have to travel through
I will walk a million miles...
Along the roads that lead me back to you.
