Serpentine, Serpentine Tempting me with your words Of seduction and sedation Luring me into deception
My legs are steadfast My heart is bold and armored My head is saying no! And so I shall remain
If my tales could be told On one single night I would tell you why I won't Follow you into oblivion
I have seen too many With your eyes and tongue Who have hurt my body of bones I cannot ever turn back
Slither away, Shadow Snake Take your evil with you I've got enough in my soul To last a thousand lifetimes

Oh this was deliciously dark. It rolled off my tongue so easily whilst reading. That ending stanza was just super.
"I've got enough in my soul
To last a thousand lifetimes"
Great lines there...Thanks for sharing.
Peace,

Interesting and confident take on resisting dark enticements.Thank goodness for learning from experience, but it still tests the resolve, doesn't it.
