It was the fear that drove him to it it was indescribable to anyone who knew it
It was more than scary monsters under the bed more than creepy visions in his head
It was the living world
All the hustle and bustle of the busy city and its streets All he wanted was a strong built castle in the middle of nowhere with no one to meet
His life, and the world it scared him to death He was warned, he was told but he could have cared less
It was the fear that drove him to it it was indescribable to anyone who knew it
And then there was me

Interesting experiment. I would categorize this as "Life Poetry" (at least in the ypdc terms) because this is about someone who is afraid of life...or of life in this society.
A couple things don't add up in my mind...
1.) My first question is how did "his fear" drive him into "it"? I'm interpreting "it" to mean the world. I would think that his fear would drive him into solitude, alone in the country...considering it isn't too likely that he could have his own castle, a nice cabin would serve the same purpose.
2.) It doesn't quite make sense to say "it was indescribable/ to anyone who knew it". The way I see it, why would someone who "knew the fear" need it described to them? It would make more sense to say, "It was indescribable/ to anyone who did not know it"
3.) I like the end, "And then there was me", but it makes me wonder--who are you? How are you different than "him" My instinct is to guess that you are opposite of him, in that you are not afraid of the world and of life in this crazy, hectic society.
Thanks for sharing,
